Daybreak

March 6th -8th

Location TBA

This retreat aims to inspire teens to live with radiant hope in imitation of Mary. From the Annunciation to the Crucifixion to Pentecost and beyond, we’ll ponder Mary’s life experiences and see how her steadfast hope and trust in God can be an example for us. Teens will be empowered to bravely go forward into the world as beacons of hope who illuminate the culture and world around them through a life transformed by God’s promises and presence.

“Daybreak” explores the meaning of hope and acknowledges that God alone can satisfy our deepest longings. Teens will be invited to place their trust completely in God and inspired to wait for the fulfillment of their hopes with patience. Looking to Mary, teens will see the challenges that moments of darkness and suffering pose to hope and be encouraged to embrace God’s faithfulness and goodness when faced with difficult situations. Most of all, teens will be empowered to live with radiant hope and be beacons of light to others through their faith, joy, love, and service.

Hope is frequently discussed but seldom understood. The world offers empty platitudes to simply “hope” or “believe” but offers nothing substantial in which to place that hope or belief. In the Catholic worldview, hope is a supernatural virtue by which God grants us the desire for eternal life in heaven and the trust that he will help us get there. This is the reason for our hope — we have a God who loves us, has made a way for us to be with him forever, and nothing in the world can ever take it away from us.
